Chloe’s younger sister, Callie, and her grew up in a suburb of Houston called Missouri City- aka MoCity aka The Mo. Her dad is a loud Chinese man with an east Texas accent who loved dove hunting, playing softball and spending time with his daughters. Her sweet and patient mother raised them with her same creative spirit. In many ways, they had a Chinese upbringing- supportive but with tough love. To say her parents were frugal would be an understatement. They would eat lunch on Saturdays at the all-you-can buffet where kids under 6 ate for free. She was “6 years old” till she was 10.Chloe dedicated fourteen years of her life to the sport of gymnastics and sacrificed a “normal” adolescence. The life of an elite gymnast is both mentally and physically demanding and requires the highest level of discipline and perseverance. She even attended a special charter school for four years so that she could spend more time in the gym. Her hard work paid off and she earned a college scholarship to a D1 university in California and was well on her way to becoming an Academic All-American her freshman year. Her dream was short-lived, however, when her dad was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer and her mom contracted the West Nile Virus. Her dad lost his battle with cancer twelve weeks after being diagnosed and she did not return to gymnastics. At 19, Chloe saw and felt mortality and regret. She told herself she can either be a victim of these circumstances or she can be a survivor. If she’s going to survive this she’s going to get everything out of this life she possibly can and it will be 100% on her terms. She transferred to the University of Texas (her dad’s alma mater) where she kept herself busy with Texas Cheerleading and service organizations like Texas Sweethearts and Big Brothers Big Sisters. Chloe was fortunate to have earned academic scholarships but needed to work full time to pay for rent and food. She received her real estate license her junior year of college and was hooked from the very beginning. In many ways, real estate filled the void where gymnastics had once been. This new passion gave her the creative outlet, competitive drive and endless possibilities to learn and improve. She’s been selling real estate since 2009 and is grateful for the opportunities and people this career has brought into her life.In her free time, Chloe likes to go to concerts, traveling and binge watch tv shows. She likes to spend time with her dog-child Mia. She is passionate about mental and physical health and works out 5 times a week (okay, maybe 4…sometimes 3). She eats an average of 2 tacos/day (okay, more like 3…4…). She hates cooking but loves eating- She’s a steak and potatoes girl. She has an incredible group of friends who fill her life with laughter. Some of her favorite places she’s traveled are Thailand, Spain and Croatia. When she has the opportunity, she likes to scuba dive and ski.Instead of writing a bio of all her accomplishments Chloe wanted to share a glimpse of her life and a story that is still being written. Her life experiences have produced her grit, her inner drive to succeed and her sense of humor. She is an elite performer. She is a realtor, and she is also a friend, a daughter and a sister. You might see her around Austin with her windows down, seat leaned back and rap music blaring. That’s why her friends call her the Chiangsta!
